Acts like brake is on but wheel spins free off the ground.

I have a 90 Sambar, manual, 4wd. Just replaced the clutch. However when trying to drive it acts like it is pulling something and diggs in like there is resistance as if the brake was sticking. When I jack the truck up the rear wheels spin fine without any resistance. Anyone have any ideas?

Check your clutch adjustment. If you have things too tight, the clutch will slip. And, it will feel like your pulling a load.

Sounds like you are stuck in 4WD

That seems to have done it. I backed off a few turns and it works much better. thanks for the advice.

The f 4wd light was not on and the front tires each turned free of the rears when it was off the ground, but thanks for that suggestion.

Dave, please put the information on your truck in the signature in your profile. It makes it a lot easier to give you good advice.
