Last spring I purchased four 23x10-12 Rohx Grappler tires for my lifted Hijet. They are DOT legal, four ply, aggressive tread. Their load rating at 20psi is 1050 pounds, more than adequate for a 1500 pound truck. After crawling around in the bush over sharp rocks, sand, mud and steep ditches called deactivations I am totally impressed with these tires, never got stuck yet or even close to it. They are not a radial and thus ride rough until warmed up, I also don’t go over 75km with them. But for the price and durability they are a great choice for a mini truck. I run them at 10 psi in front and 8-10 in the rear and have never had a tire com off the rim, and I’m not gentle with the truck. One day I tore out the valve stem on the front drivers side, drove 29 km back home and didn’t notice a thing until I got home. The tire looked like it didn’t with 10 psi in it. Tough as hell tires. I found them at a golf cart supplier, as that was their intended purpose. Check them out, they are great tires!

Do you have any recommendations for 13" wheels and tires that I could get locally? I'm in Courtenay.
    Thanks!

I have some 13x5 inch aluminum multi fit wheels on my truck, they were on it when I bought it in Courtenay four years ago. I currently have 175/70 R13 winter tires on it for street use. I will be replacing them with 185/70-R13 winter tires as soon as any tire shop in Courtenay has any. As of last week Cal Tire and the other places didn't even have winter tires available. For off road driving the single ply sidewall on any street tire tens to get torn open on jagged rocks, but they do OK on maintained logging roads. I like to get right into the thick of things exploring deactivated roads and roads not driven on in 40+ years. I have a Facebook Page for mini truck enthusiasts. its called Rain Forest Mini Trucks. Check it out!

What wheel are you running and offset? Any rubbing etc?

Right now I am using steel 12x7.5 quads wheels with two inch spacers. I am trying to find a stock backspace 12x7 wheel so I can get rid of the spacers. When in the bush, the spacers create an excessive amount of leverage against the steering system when running against roots or big rocks and tears the steering wheel out of my hands rather violently. I have the bruises to prove it. I have contacted a company which makes 12x7 Drake wheels for a Diahatsu but have not heard back from them. The stock Daihatsu wheel is a four inch offset, these quad ones I’m using are about six inches.
