Great forum here. Glad to find it. My Daihatsu minitruck runs fine. I just want to convert it to an electric vehicle. Anyone done this successfully? Unsuccessfully? Plusses? Minuses? I suspect my gasoline EFI 660cc 3-cyl engine, in working condition, 110km, will be available if anyone wants it. Looking forward to hearing back.
Might be better looking for a electric conversion blog? Here’s one I found and I’m sure there’s more. Looks like the most critical part is “The key components of the kit is the joining plate.” Good luck. http://cbelectriccar.com/blog/electric-truck/electric-truck-conversion-kits/
Thanks. I didn't say I've been an electric vehicle guy for a long time. I've just never done a tiny Japanese mini-truck so I am hoping to learn from the experience of anyone who has.
I’m in need of a 660 efi engine, trans etc. sounds like a cool build. Looking forward to seeing it. Let me know if you proceed and want to sell current set up
Daihatsu sold an electric version in Great Britain. There is, maybe was, a daihatsu forum online from Britain. Someone ,might have one and be willing take some photos.
Looking at mine, if you pull the engine/transmission, and fuel tank, you would have lots of room for a battery array.
