I have to wonder how many parts for a GEO Metro can be used on our Suzuki Carrys?

Has anyone ordered the tuneup parts from rockauto for a metro for instance? They look like they would work, the metro has a 3 cyl 993 cc motor. The wires, cap, rotor all look similar and its a lot cheaper than the JDM parts.

For $25.00 I might just order one and see how it measures up.

Then I started looking into brakes. Again, all looks very similar including the rear drums.

I also was looking at the front struts on RA and they look very similar to ours but I'll have to wait and get the van up in the air to be more sure.

Radiator and fan seem close in size too.

The clutch disc is about the only thing that swaps. Those plug wires may work if the connectors are right.. My '92 had the Hemi head, so the plug wires had to be for the little truck. I used a set of Subaru plug wires to get it home one day. They fit but the valve cover boot did not fit in the right spot

Good to know. I have a 96 van and there may be differences. How to tell if you have the hemi head?

I think the struts are not swappable as is. The metro struts look much longer. What about rear shocks? I suspect there some shock I can get over here that matches the specs on the van rear shocks. They look conventional with a loop on both ends.

Your valve cavity in the head, above the pistons, will be hemispherical.

there was a thread about thermostat crossing from a geo or a swift.

I'm sure but is there a number or marking to know without pulling the engine apart?

I'm making a list. I'll post it when I can verify various parts.

  9. The thermo can be cross referenced with a 94 2.2l s10. 180° only thing you need to do is pop a small hole in the lip to provide a burp hole
