I have an 85. There are 3 slots for the key to rest, bottom,middle and ignition. Is bottom acc or is middle acc? Which is off? None of my dash lights light up for either bottom or middle key position
Industry standard is: 1st position - off, steering lock, & key removal, 2nd - unlock steering wheel, 3rd - Accessories only, 4th - ignition & accessories, 5th - start. Prior to when steering wheel lock was introduced, the standard was: neutral position - off & key removal, counterclockwise 1 notch - accessories, clockwise 1 notch - ignition & accessories, 2nd notch - start. Prior to that era, there were a few different schemes employed by different manufacturers. Fred
This can be deleted. Middle on my truck is off down is acc and up for ignition. Key will only pull out in the center slot.
