Daily, everything was fine. Suddenly, Starts but barely idles with throttle mid way. No revs at all. Dies if you let off. Exhaust temp light is on at cold start.

Something is killing the fuel supply. What are the possibilities? Thanks!

fuel pump maybe. Usually if it's the fuel shutoff solenoid you don't get any fuel.

try drizzling a little fuel in the carb. If it can get revs that way, it is a fuel supply issue.

I have fuel pressure to the carb. I have spark (maybe weak) to the center of the distributor. I did not get spark on a pulled plug, but grounding was suspect. Carb linkage moved when pedal depressed. So the problem is IN the carb or distributor? What steps next?

The problem is almost always fuel or spark. One of the inline spark testers, and see if you have a good spark. Just about any parts house should have one. Better ones let you adjust the gap, and will let you estimate how many volts the coil is putting out based on the distance it can jump.

If you have a manual, and a multimeter, the manual should tell you the resistance between the tower, and terminals on the coil, and you can test to see if the coil is good.

Simple spark tester gave a bright orange spark, apparently on timing. Haven't checked coil volts. I'm suspecting stuck or punctured float in the carb. Do these have an "accelerator pump?"

Yes I believe so I’m no expert but I have seen the accelerator pumps for sale at Yokohama I think

You can always plug off the fuel line and crank it up and run the carb out of fuel. If it suddenly revs up and runs great right before it runs out of gas, then you likely have a stuck needle/float, if not it is likely spark related.

New Reman Carb from Yokohama Mtrs. installed. Cranked it, and it started and had throttle response for 30 seconds. Died, won't start. Plenty of fuel all the way to the plugs. (Wet after cranking no start. Dried and reinstalled plugs.) New fuel filter just in case. Ignition coil that is OK cold, but goes out of spec in use? WTF.
