My 93 Carrie DD 51T looks like a three wire a fuel pump I’m finding a lot of two wire fuel pumps that look just like the same housing and some say they fit the DD 51 T ,can a three wire be changed over to run a two wire pump ,hope somebody has a good solution.

The cheap pumps are for a Honda Magna motorcycle and they are cheap knockoffs, but they will work and fit, for a while anyway. I forget what the third wire is, but you can omit it. DVOM to find power and ground and just hook it up.

The 1980-1983 Honda Civic pumps spec exactly the same as the Magna pump, but you can still find a 'real' Civic pump and the mounting can work. It's the common replacement for the Magna's.. The other pump that would work is an SU fuel pump for an old british car like an MGB.

I have the same problem. Which wire do I use as the hot? Black with white or brown with black? One has 12.5 volts and the other has 12.2 volts.

Get your DVM out and see whats hot with the key on (not started). The 3rd wire activates the pump when it gets input from the coil that it is firing. So you don't have to have that. Its a JDM thing to make it "safer" back in the day.

2 wires have voltage to them. There is just a small bit of voltage difference between them. Any ideas on which wire to use? Black with white or Brown with black?

I’ve tried this before on a couple of occasions, and found that it just didn’t work correctly. I believe the issue was I had too much pressure along with the fact that the pump was running more often than it should.
