I'm doing a carb swap on a 92 Suzuki Carry and was wondering how you get the throttle cable on the new Rhino Carb. Clearly you have to cut the barrel off the end of the cable to feed it through the hole but what do you put on the end to attach to the new carb. Thanks in advance

    Greg,

theres a couple ways you can do this. pretty sure i got pix in my carb thread of one way.

    1. take the end (lead) piece off of the cable.. feed it thru the hole & put a lead piece back on.

    2. cut the barrel nut off the cover of the carb & get a replacement that fits both ends (has bigger passage way thru it)

i liked method #1 better & its not hard to do. this lets you connect your throttle cable to the piece sticking out of the carb with another barrel nut set up.

the hardest part about #1 set up is not letting the cable fray. take a pair of dykes & cut it off as close as you can, feed the cable thru... then grab a lead clamp sinker from your tackle box. get one that fits in the hole of the cable holder on the carb. squeeze him down on your wire & bingo! you are done.

a substitute for the lead piece can also be a small piece of brake line. this is a little harder. you have to cut it to the right length. drill a hole the size of your cable thru 1 side..... carefully feed the cable thru. tie a knot in it & pull it back up inside of the brake line. now drop it in the slot.

both of these ways work & ive done it both ways. if you are worried about the sinker coming loose? the brake line way works perfect & spins real nice in there. its just tough to get it perfect width on the brake line.

just remember:: there is always a way.
