Critical Error in the English Service Manual!

I have come across a critical error in the English Service Manual made by James Danko of Yokohama Motors when it comes to the head bolt torquing procedure.

His manual states that the bolt torque is 3.0±0.3kg/m which is about 21.5lb/ft. This is only the first of 5 steps! The torque order shown in his book is also completely backwards. The photo is the removal order, not the installation order!

After translating the original Japanese manual, I wrote up a quick one-page PDF with an image showing the correct order, as well as all 5 steps to the torquing procedure. The end result is quite a bit higher than his indicated. I emailed the document over to JDMFSM, and they have added it next to the rest of the english "service manual"

The document is located here: http://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subar...anual/Subaru Sambar Head Torque Procedure.pdf

Thanks!! Good information. Guess that's a wet torque spec since they say to use assembly oil.
