Wanted to drain my radiator on Subaru Sambar. Found the plastic butterfly drain plug. Turned it about 3/4 way, as far as it will go. There is a nipple that blocks it from going further. Anyway, nothing came out. I know there is fluid in there. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I do believe it should come out. I think it is the o-ring stuck in the bore holding in.

Thanks for the input. If that is the case, how do I get it out or unstopped?

If I remember correctly with mine, I just pulled down and it popped out

That is after I got the threads backed right off.

The butterfly screw will only turn so far and then stop because it is hitting something. Is it suppose to spin completely around several times and then actually come off?

It should screw out but it’s been so long since I did mine I can’t remember 100%

    What did you do?

I ended up having to cut off a little of the nipple that stuck out so I could completely spin the butterfly plastic screw out. That was the only way it would drain.I guess the butterfly screw was clogged. After I got it out, I tried to unclog it but I couldn't get it to work. I just plug it back in and tighten it back.
