Hi everyone my name is Hap Wilson, the proud new owner of a 1993 Subaru Sambar KS4 model. I am not new to the kei vehicle scene as I have owned a handful of various kei trucks/vans/car but I just had a few questions regarding the Subaru's since this is in fact my first time with a Subaru model. It seems as though the common parts for this vehicle are not too hard to find (filters,plugs,bearings, shocks,etc of the sort). But it does seem like there are a few kinks to this model like the crank bearing condition and some small common corrosion spots etc. If you guys have any tips on these things that would be fantastic and yes I have been surfing through all the threads haha. So far I have replaced the plugs, new 350cca battery, and have gotten the alternator rebuilt since the voltage regulator was bad on it. Timing belt was just done before I bought it so no worries there. My final question I've got before i go is this little sticker I found under the dash. It’s just a dash assembly tag they used when they built the truck , probably for some inventory systems like it’s fits model “a” with options “A,B,C,and E “ seen it on a bunch of Subaru trucks and vans I think it’s in the lower left corner of the driver side near the center radio and climate controls
Oh okay much thanks for the information I am trying to learn as much as I can about the sambar as far as weaknesses and certain things that may help with common mechanical things to keep an eye on and fix earlier rather then later.
about the only thing I can think of is the water pump depending on how many km's you have on it. Usually it is a good idea to do it when you change the timing belt, but if it aint broke, don't fix it. Run it and enjoy.
