    Hello!

Just dropping a line, looking forward to collaborating with the group and learning all the in N outs about mini trucks.
I'll be picking up my new to me 1992 Daihatsu Hijet Climber later this week. 47000km on the clock, it's been with the previous owner for about 7 years. He's moving to a top of the Kubota SXS with A/C, which opened the door for me to try something different.

I sold my Honda 4 wheeler ('18 Rubicon 500) in March of this year, and moved to a RZR S 570. I very much liked my Honda, but it didn't carry enough stuff and it was inconvenient when my wife/dad/friends wanted to join me.. not safe or fun 2 up. The RZR solved both those issues, and I liked it very much. But it's a sportier model and capacity still wasn't quite what I currently need and I just don't trust the belt drive. No issues, but not for me.
I've had my eye on a mini truck for what seems like a decade! Always to quirky/expensive/hard to find... and the timing was wrong. However, 2 years ago, I bought 44 acres in Ontario (Canada) and started developing a trail system (see ATV/SXS issues above). My Hijet comes equipped with street and ATV tires, as well as a set of Mattracks! I didn't get to test the SXS with grooming trails, but surely it would have had the same limitations as the quad. 15" of snow, drifts, slush.. are just too much for these toys. With the mini truck on Mattracks, I should be able to groom all the trails now :)

Anyway, this is the start to my new adventure with the Hijet.
I don't know how much service really got done to it, so I'm likely to start from the bottom and work my way up. On the to do list:
    a) Came with new front struts and heavy springs (looks like a bad spring on the truck now). Going to replace those ASAP.
    b) Likely still has the original timing belt!! Need to order a belt, tensioner and water pump, as well as the serpentine accessory belt. Do it now and then I can forget about it!
    c) Brake fluid, Differentials, Transmission and Engine oils/filters.
    d) Brake inspection/service.

Once the service is complete, I'll start to look at what to improve. I don't like him homemade bumper/winch install, needs LED lights for trail work, 2" hitches front and rear, I'd like new rims and tires.... I'm afraid my Mini will need a max budget!

If anyone can offer some sage advise on manuals, parts and procedures, as well as any of the mentioned upgrade you might want to part with, message me what you got and maybe we can work something out.
Pics to follow once the bus gets here!

Thanks in advance for the support,
    Ivan

You and I both. Fun adventure to come. Just dropped mine off at a friends house. He is working on the Predator carb for me. I call it that because all of the stinking vac hoses on it. Lol. Good luck and happy to see what upgrades you will get on yours.

    have a blessed week!!!

    Voila!
    She's home!!

Now, can someone help me with some p/numbers?
    This has the EF-CS engine.

I need an air filter p/number, and confirmation what fluids go into the diffs. mission and axles. Looks like 75/80 for all??
    Thanks!
