What oil for transmission?

    What oil should go in the transmission. 5sp 4X4 1992 non supercharged.

    Most probably a GL4 multiweight. What you need to be sure of is that it says it is safe for yellow metal, or it will eat the synchronizer rings.

    You should be safe with the Subaru gear oil, but may be expensive.

    I used the Redline brand from Orelly’s. MT 85, 75W85. $20 per quart. It’s GL4 and safe for brass.

    I'm using Redline MT90 GL4 in my TY60 5MT.
