Hello, I am the new owner of a 1993 Daihatsu Hijet S82P. Please see photos my 1993 Daihatsu Hijet S82P following my signature. In the second large photo from the top, you will note that the rubber body bumper on the left rear of my Hijet is missing. Because my 1993 Daihatsu Hijet is 27 years old, the other 3 rubber rubber body bumpers are probably going to also fall out or become ancient history soon. It is my understanding that these rubber body bumpers are no longer available from Daihatsu in Japan and none of the aftermarket parts sellers in the USA have them. Have any of you purchased an adequate substitute rubber body bumper insert from a Home Depot or Lowe's? If so, please be so kind to provide me with a Home Depot or Lowe's SKU number and let me know how it fastens. Finally, I won't be seeing my 1993 Daihatsu Hijet S82P until Wednesday, MAR 18. 1. Where is the easiest location of the VIN Number to access for purposes of VIN verification and registration? 2. Where is the plate located that shows the body color code? 3. Subject: 1993 Daihatsu Hijet Chassis: S82P-134732 Good morning My Daihatsu Hijet was shipped by open car carrier earlier this week from Maryland to Ohio. I will be seeing my 1993 Daihatsu Hijet for the first time next week, as I am flying from California to Ohio next TUES. MAR 17. Please see the middle photo. As you can see, the left rear rubber body bumper is missing. The other three (3) are still in place on my Daihatsu Hijet. I realize my vehicle is 27 years old. I would like to purchase four (4) either new or used rubber body bumpers for my Daihatsu Hijet. I realize these are made of rubber and the UV from years of exposure has made them brittle. As you can see on the left side or passenger side, it appears as though the rubber body bumper in front is round and the rubber body bumper in the rear is horizontal. It is my understanding that some people have purchased these rubber body bumper equivalent parts from a Home Depot or a Lowe’s but obviously, I would have absolutely no idea what to ask for or how to match my other three (3) rubber body bumpers without removing one of them. Obviously, if I tried to remove one, it might crumble in the parking lot! Please advise at your earliest convenience if any of you have replaced any of your rubber body bumpers and if so, do you by chance know the Home Depot or Lowe's part number? Thank you very much! Stitch, I wouldn't go by the seat belt tag, in my case, my seat belt tags were different, (1988) than the actual year, 1989! As far as the body, rubber, bumpers. I think your going to have to do like everyone else, and get creative! Go into Walmart, Home Depot, or Loew's, and look around, until you find something you like, or can glue on and make work! You seem pretty computer savvy, Google, or use Amazon Prime, rubber auto bumpers, or similar comparisons (get creative) and I think you can find something that will work! Good Luck! Limestone
