Hello Everyone! I just joined the forum a couple of days ago. I imported an Acty a few months ago and decided to build a little shell to keep things dry. It's also a cozy sleeper for surf trips. It's made out of 1/4 inch birch ply and cedar. The shape of the shell was patterned to match the curve of the cab. I haven't done any finishing on the interior yet, the bones (plywood ribs) are exposed. The exterior finish is clear coat epoxy. The roof has one layer of 6oz fiberglass for strength. It weighs roughly 120 lbs. I thoroughly enjoyed building it and thought I might see if anyone else in the minitruck community wants one! I'm a carpenter by trade and would to love to do another custom design with your ideas. Dream it and I'll build it! I'm skilled in 3D sketchup design, and could make a model of what you envision. The pictured shell above would cost roughly $2300. I could get simpler or more elaborate from there. 3D design would be an add on. I'm based on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. Shipping within the PNW could be organized. I haven't looked into freight for the rest of the country, but assume it could be possible. Send me a personal message if you're interested! Good work. I’ve been toying with building something similar, but as a “foamy” so it would have integral insulation.
