So I’m trying to cover all my basis before buying a mini truck and the costs. I was reading that Suzuki Carry has an “ Interference engine “ that means the belt and valves share the same Space and if the belt breaks it’ll destroy the motor. If I buy a 25 year old Carry should I make this a priority to change out along with the water pump and tension chain? I’m just not sure how long this all stays good or not.
timing belts usually last 6-10 years before they snap, all depends on the climate theyre subjected too. waterpumps can grenade the timing belt too, my 1st Sambar the waterpump bearings seized and snapped the timing belt on the highway, even though it wasnt interference it still sucked to deal with
Just a quick question on the smilar topic. My VRX is about to hit 200k and I wanna get the timing belt done. What is the tensioner that was mentioned before? How much should I expect to be paying for the timing belt to be done?
