There is no need to unbolt-much of anything, remove the hub nut, knock pin out of inner cv, it has enough slack to pull loose from rear axle. Then drive it out of the hub. You do need to unbolt the drive shaft at front,so you can rotate the cv to knock pin out and line back up to replace when ready

rkrenicki - Thank You! Do you happen to know if the Dist Cap and Rotor is the same for normally aspirated EN07s?

I was just looking them up yesterday. There are 6 different versions for the various EN07C engines, and I could not come up with a nice way to break them out on my spreadsheet.

If you can post or message me your VIN, I can give you the part number for your specific Sambar.

Thanks! KS4-246461. I might as well do cap, rotor, AND points, if you know. :)

For that specific VIN, the parts are as follows along with estimated prices from Japanparts.com:

    Cap: 22162KA151 (About $16)
    Cap Gasket: 22171KA050 (about $3)
    Rotor: 22157KA020 (About $6)
    "Points" assembly: 22115KA021 (About $290)

I do not know why the price is so high on the points. The dealer price listed in my catalog is 27,700yen! It is half of the price of the entire distributor assembly.

Thanks. Wow, there must be an equivalent points set for reasonable money.

I have a 1996 non supercharged that uses the same part number for the “points”. My points are electronic. You may only need to replace the rotor and cap.

I'll have to get an angle to see in there. I guess if they're not the 'contacts on an arm and a base' type, they're as you say. Thanks.

That makes more sense. On the other earlier versions, the Points are reference 22186 and the condenser is 22102. Both come up as No Applicable Part Number (対象部番がありません) for your VIN.

The Supercharged model uses a hall-effect sensor there as a camshaft position sensor which is also pretty spendy, but it almost never fails.

I agree with @Botl01, I would just replace the cap, rotor, and the gasket.

Anyone know the part number to recplace the ignition lock cylinder on a 1990 Sambar?

Just the ignition lock, or an entire lock set?

There are a bunch of variations for the 1990 model, I would need the VIN to look up either one.

Just the iginition lock, the key is getting very hard to turn. I am not sure which is the vin number, but I do know it's the earlier 1990 as I just ordered the 10mm clutch kit.

It is not on my spreadsheet, because it looks like there are a lot of variations, and there is no easy way to mark on there what they all do.

As for the VIN, it would be a KS3 or KS4 followed by 6 numbers. It is on a plate in the passenger footwell. Something like "KS3-123456"

That spreadsheet is a very handy tool!
However, I was just looking for a distributor cap and spark plug wire set for my '91 and it appears as if Japanparts is not selling these 2 items any further.
    22162KA151 & RC-FE37

Sometimes JapanParts will delete items from their site, but it does not necessarily mean it is discontinued. I would try emailing them about 22162KA151 and see what they say.

As for the plug wires, I would suggest getting them from Amazon Japan: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/product/B0086T3BIK/

If you have a key with the key code stamped on it, take it and the ignition cylinder to a locksmith for a re-build. I did that, it was $60 and now works as new.
