On my 3rd set of tires for my 2017 Suzuki. The only tire that wears is the outside of the right front. My tire guys say it's because I'm sitting on it. I don't think my 160 lbs. is causing it. Had it aligned to specs my importer said. Any ideas?
if its like just the edge tread then camber. if the tire is scrubbed on an angle its toe. stock suspension or lifted? my truck is older but the drivers strut is worn out.
Truck had a 2 - 3" lift when I got it. I thought that's what wore out the first tire. Got the alignment specs and had it aligned for the 2nd set. Took the lift off, realigned, and it did the same thing. 3 rd set now and trying to prevent it. Truck front end is very spongy on bumps. Would like some stiffer springs maybe but don't want added lift. Any suggestions on that?
These are the alignment specs that I have. Front caster 7" 55' + - 1 Camber 0" 0' + - 1 Toe .9mm +2.9 mm/ -0mm Rear camber 0" 0' + - 1' Rear toe 0mm + - 5mm
Some vehicles, a sports car I owned, and my Hijet, are supposed to have the suspension set while the suspension is loaded to a specific height. The guy who did my Hijet put a few fifty pound bags of sand on the floor to simulate me in the seat.
Re stiffer springs: the springs on my Hijet happen to correspond to 2-1/2-inside diameter by 12-inch free length springs sold for coil over shocks. You might be able to install some stiffer springs, by cutting a bit off of a set, and not change the ride height.
