Yes, so if the cam is in time when 1&4 are at TDC and you turn the crank 1 complete turn 1&4 are at TDC again the cam is 180 from what it was and still in time.
You can add photos when you reply to a post. There's a camera icon, click that then below there's a Add Media.
Ok so my cam gear has two letters on webbing an "F" which has a dot and a "B" that has a notch like mark.Which one do i use to line up with inner cover mark?I noticed on the distributor it will only go in one way into the cam shaft. That kinda tells me number one can only be in two spots. This project is taking a toll on my mood.If i could just hear the damn thing fire up once it would go a long way towards a more positive attitude lol.
My bookmarks page is full but somewhere on this site i found a post claiming these rings will work in my EN07.https://www.ebay.com/itm/56MM-Pisto...V-Quad-Go-Kart-/301938055228?oid=222088442108.can anyone verify this?
I have a spare block w/o head etc, but was uncovered and has surface rust in cylinders. Was pondering the idea of honing and installing new rings for a plan "B".
I tried adding media and it just sits there. Also tried to enable flash etc with no luck on adding my pictures.=(
It doesn't matter which, the marks are 180 deg. apart. Use the nearest one, don't try to turn the cam all the way around.
Ok just got home from working on buddy's jeep.I did another compression test and it came out higher.Maybe the rings are re-seating during me turning it over so many times.Good news is i was just squirting starting fluid in intake and it started to fire off and on.The carb is still on the bench.Anyways i seen a little smoke. After investigating i found where i landed the engine ground under an intake bolt to be very hot.Gonna go thru all the grounds i can find and clean them up.Also ran out of starting fluid at that point.Feeling better that its trying.I still say something wrong in ignition system..will update later.
I have decided that one cylinder must have rings stuck and causing excessive blowby. Next step is to pull the engine hone it and re-ring I guess.
I don't typically recommend snake oils, but one thing that works great on loosening stuck rings is Sea-Foam. Some in the gas, some in the oil. I've personally seen it work a dozen times.
Ok i know its been a long time.Im back to working on my sambar.got cylinders honed and now trying to find specs for ring end gap, plus torque specs for rod and main bearings.
Well I know its been a while.Got it up and running 2 days ago.Still need to set timing with light.I have a couple issues to work out yet, one i cant figure out what the dash light is that's a (!) symbol and cant find a vacuum hose diagram.I would say i have 90% of them right but not sure.
Well after setting the timing and a few adjustments it runs great.Thought i was in trouble when it stalled going to 3rd but timing fixed that. Now im down to getting the 4wd to work. The button seemss to work on shifter,I can hear a click under the dash and at the solenoid by motor it actuates/clicks as i plug it in.Still no dash light saying 4wd.Im confused on the vacuum hoses going to the actuator, one of them ends up on my distributor for advance.I have looked all over the site for vacuum hose diagrams etc with no luck.
Take a look at my thread here, I had an issue last year where my solenoid went bad and wouldnt go out of 4x4, you can manually jump the vac lines with some small pipe to get it in or out of 4x4. The images in this thread are the same actuator you're talking about right? https://minitrucktalk.com/threads/resolved-ks4-stuck-in-4wd.18654/
Yes thats it.Think there are like 5 lines hooked up?I know 2 are right they are collar crimped to transfer case.just need to figure out where the others are supposed to go.By the way thanks for the reply Max.
