Hi guys, so I have this issue with my s83p daihatsu hijet where it loses power at high rpm. Like it not getting any fuel. The issue started with it idling rough at startup which stopped when it warmed up. Now it idles rough at startup and when that clears up once its warm it bogs down at high rpm. It ran perfectly normal up till about a week ago. I had the carb rebuilt and got it nicely tuned and now this pops up. Frustrating...

It might be revlimiting by limiting the carb. My S110 has a different carb, but it limits the revs by throttling the carb. It has a needle valve selonoid, that dumps air into the vacuum chamber on the carb, and limits the lift of the constant velocity portion of the carb piston. .

I narrowed it down to a spark issue. The spark plug wire from the distributor to the second cylinder was faulty. Pulled the ends of the wire, cut a new one put the ends on that one and now she’s running on all three cylinders. Responds to the touch on the accelerator like a hungry cat responds to the can opener. Glad I found the issue. Thanks for the replies.
