I've taken mine up to 8k but it's really screaming, stock tach on the Atrai van version of the hijet shows a redline just over 7k...I would assume that the speedo is an accurate representation of how high you can rev it,a truck with no stock tach would not have a 120km speedo if the truck couldn't reasonably reach that speed...the turbo versions of the same vehicle have a 140km speedo...

Is this your way to stop tire shirp between shift? I really hate that tire shirp when I shift from third to fourth at 8000rpm, plus it attracts the POLICE. Those long burnouts from first gear don't help either. I might buy slicks to stop tire to pavement slipage. Maybe I'll have to detune my engine to cut power. Bring it down to 38 hp from 42 hp maybe!

    1999 suzuki tach

Just up in a equus 6068 tach works great with coil on plug. I tryed to use the sunpro that I had in my diahatsu no luck. I tryed using the signal from the cam sensor but even the draw of an LED test light would cause the engine to die. Useing a GPS unit it runs 60 miles per hour at 90 k because of over size tires (165 80 13s) its at 5300 rpm Tires are on 2000 up Accent wheels and clear fine.

Well I imagine this is a topic good as any to post what I found in a owner's manual for a 1998 Carry/Every(thus I'd imagine it would apply for 1991 onwards).
The manual shows 7000-8000 rpm as redline(and the meter only goes up to 8000), however all the pictures of the RPM meter are for the turbocharged automatic transmission.

As for gear shifts, manual says 0-20km/h for 1st gear, 10-40km/h for 2nd gear, 20-60km/h for 3rd, 30km/h upwards for 4th, and 40km/h upwards for 5th. There is also bunch of instructions for EL, and 4WD, but they seem rather specific, and I cannot read Japanese so I really don't dare posting those not knowing what applies when.

    Hi,

I recently purchased a Equus 6068 Tach and cannot get it to work on my 2003 Suzuki Carry ?
I’ve tried to connect the Green wire to a connector which I thought was the Cam Sensor but it don’t
seem to read correctly it just goes bonkers... Like someone else said on this topic when checking these
Three wires with a test light one wire the test light goes solid light another will shut the engine down
And the other nothing happens ?.

This is the Three wire connector on the front of the engine up high where the timing chain is. Any help would be appreciated .

I have a 2002 Carry so I suppose you have the same K6a engine. Wonder if you might be able to use the crank sensor as a pickup signal and use a different setting on the tach itself. Only offering suggestion as I have not tried to install a tach on mine.

Did you ever get your tach Working? I have a 2004 with the same motor and am wanting a tach and will also be installing a remote starter that needs the same wire for the pickup.

For my remote starter I used the negative from the injector. It is the black wire out of the 3 wire set right on top of the motor on the passenger side. Not the coil pack wires, the sets above that.
I'm guessing that will work for a tach as it works as a tach pick up on my remote starter. When I used my meter it does modulate up and down with throttle.

So is yours a 2003 as well and is it a standard? I like the idea of a remote start what brand and model did you use? Also did you install a Tach ?

    Thanks

Yes Battery is outside on Left. I just seen this You Tube video and looked in front of the Starter and on the Engine Block and found this number

K6A-5654219 I wonder if that’s just the Block
Or something to do with Chassis #

That is the engine type, The K6A is the newer engine with timing chain and fuel injection. I'm sure it is a DA63T, Did you import it? is it not on paperwork? Is it registered in Canada?

I just got the glow shift installed it today on my 97 and its all kinds of messed up trucks idling like 800-1000 but tach shows 3k hit the gas and it drops down to 2k then starts climbing let off the gas drops back to 2k for a split sec then jumps to 3k wish i could upload the video.

The tachometer needs to be set to 1 cylinder to work on the newer distributorless ignition trucks. If it cannot be set to 1 it won’t work.

I have a '96 Carry and picked up an iGauge tach from mini4x4.ca -- I can follow the instructions pretty clearly but they only talk about 3 wires (black - ground, red - switched power, green - neg coil) while the tach itself also has an orange wire. Does anyone have any idea where that one is intended to go?

Green should go to positive side of coil.
    Orange wire to dash lights?

    Orange wire is accessory/lights, yup
