  1. Hello everyone. I finally tracked Kevin down and am now able to post. I have a 2017 Suzuki Super Stalker LS. I got it back in May and got it tagged in Florida without a problem. I use it daily on my pool service route and it is a dream to work out of compared to my Tacoma. I have already ordered tires and wheels from Japan. Once I got those with no problem I ordered a set of Toyo Open Country from Japan for a backup pair. My newest puzzle has been trying to figure out how to adjust the left headlight. I think the whole front end may have to come off. Any input appreciated.

I thought that any Kei truck eligible for tagging and use on the road had to be 25 yrs old due to DOT and EPA. Florida does not follow that?

  3. Walked in to tag office with manufacturers certificate of origin or whatever they call it, tagged for 1 1/2 years, no problem. Insurance was harder, I have Auto Owners on my other 2 vehicles and at first they weren't going to write but then they did.

  4. Importer did say that they come with EPA stickers etc but nobody checked anything.

Got to admit, I do not understand the US Gov & the 50 states blocking Kei trucks. Safety issues...really? I have yet to see a motorcycle that will pass any crash tests. Emissions...seriously? Once again, how many 660 CC motorcycles can pass an automobile tailpipe emissions test? Quit trying to protect me from me. What I am really saying is, I wish all levels of government would quit automatically considering all things with 4 wheels as dangerous environment killers and let the free market pick the winners.

Kei trucks are simply a better answer to many questions. I want one not to pull large trailers or move extreme loads at interstate speeds. I want one for miscellaneous running around (I live in a rural area) and working on the acreage I own. I will keep my Dodge truck for heavy loads, trailers and long trips, but the Kei (whenever I finally get one) will be used for all the small stuff in between.

2017 SSS, based on the little I know, I don't know how you got the 2017 legally imported and licensed without it being treated like a UTV (not street legal, no title and speed limited), but I am tickled for you. I wish we all could buy what we want, not what a bureaucrat or lobbyist wants.

  7. Call Bob at RSM in Michigan @ 517-206-1885. Tell him where you live and what you want. He basically guarantees you a tag and a title. If you want to give me a call feel free, 863-441-4515.

    I find it Mind Blowing!
Im a Plumber and I use mt Suzuki daily.
Im doing all I can to make it more road worthy!
But If I can simply Buy a NEW truck, now my mind is running wild!
I have several Large trucks, a 26' International and a Isuzu cab over 5ton with 14' box!
Perhaps I can find the next size larger?
Or perhaps even more impressing I could get a VW T4 transport?

    2017SSS -
I appreciate the info and the offer to call you about your experience. At this time, I am waiting for the "right 25 yr old" to cross the auction and catch my eye. I know I can get it licensed for anywhere on the road in Texas. However, if I get really frustrated, you might hear from me.
    Thanks again.

This won't be too practical... I first thought he was illegally importing trucks, and Florida is easy to tag black market vehicles as they have privately owned tag stations... But he is selling them as low speed vehicles ( road legal in Florida ).. The catch is still a limitation of 25 mph on certain roads. ( same vehicle class as a golf cart ).. The federal designation is 49 mph so the trucks will be programmed to achieve that..

The best option is still a 25 year old vehicle.. The only real problem with getting the next size up truck is, cost since they are really popular in Africa, most of them go there and they will pay for good ones.. Car's like Suzuki Alto's are pretty cheap if your thinking Kei car. Royaltrading.jp had a '93 Alto Works ( turbocharged ) with automatic for like $1,100.
