I inquired about adding a locker conversion to my 95 carry DD51T from a company called Phantom Grip. Here is their response. "This model seems so similar to the DB series. Do you happen to have access to the differential? We just need some info from the diff to see which part # exactly it is. Let me know if you do have access to the diff and I can send you a spec sheet of what we need." There you have it. I am wondering if anyone has access to a differential out of one of our trucks where we could get part numbers? Any help would allow us guys without lockers to easily add them without buttons or air lines. If not I will take mine apart but was hoping someone here would have that information? Lets do this guys!
There is Im sure but Im not really wanting to tear into mine until Im able to confirm they have one. I guess Ill crawl around tonight and see if I can get an axle part number and see how it compares to the newer trucks.

I spoke to the people at Traction Concepts and confirmed my truck (DB52T) would work. They said yes. I haven't noticed much of a difference between my DB51T and the DB52T in terms of the axle itself. Traction Concepts claims they have had good results for the end user. I have not had a chance to test mine. I just installed tracks and will not be back to tires until after hunting season in March. During my research I found a video but cannot locate it anymore. The one truck with the LSD went straight up the hill, the other had issues. My mechanic had to machine the gears to make everything fit. The directions say to "grind" the gears or use a lathe... We clearly opted to be more precise with the differential gears and used the lathe. Directions attached. If you have further questions I would suggest contacting Traction Concepts and ask them. I just wanted to ask. This LSD kit is for the rear diff only? Do you know of anything for the front? Thanks
My understanding on my DB51t is that the front end IS a straight axel with the Diff Lock Button on the dash! My front end has the plates over the axels making it live and there is a Vacuum line going to the front end! Air Locker?
No factory front axle has difflock. The difflock button locks up the rear and the axle lock button connects the front driveshaft to the front axle it doesn't lock the front axle. If it did you would never be able to steer with the front locked up. When I run tracks in the winter I can spin 3 tracks but never 4. So I am always dragging one track. In order to steer you always rely on the inside wheel spinning slower than the outside. But with tracks in the snow this wouldn't be as big of a problem. If I could lock all 4 together I would never get stuck! It would be like a tank!
Unfortunate the vacuum line in the front isn't for a locker. It just connects the drive shaft in. So when you are not in 4 wheel drive you don't have to spinn the driveshaft. This is very common on domestic vehicles as well. A front locker would only ever be for off road use. And I doubt they exist for these trucks since they are exactly as popular as a jeep or a chev.
I can certainly feel the front tires lock and cant turn nearly as sharp, and on gravel any way I turn 3?
Ya that's what I figured. Do you notice any limitation not having a locked up front end with the Mattracks? Now I do get into some rough situations several feet of sugary snow and steepish hills. It's always that one track in the front not spinning that gets me. Thanks.
I live in Texas. If I need tracks for snow the state has much larger problems LOL. I have not put it through the paces. I will mainly use mine for duck hunting & in the ponds. Everything is dry now.

So from what I'm reading here. My tracks on my 94 Carry are dragging one front all the time? I thought it was transferred back and forth and only when slipping. My tracks have never slipped, and I can say I don't think I've ever had one track off the ground but it seems like the other three, or the rear two with the axle lock-on would keep it moving. What am I missing? I read the post on adding a jammar cutting brake, but I don't see why unless you're spinning a track.
I never use my tracks outside winter as I have always been afraid they may be damaged without the wet and snow. I use to have taoutous, and they were just awful and had sliders like a snowmobile. I would run them and keep them sprayed down with dish soap for lube in the summer for short runs. But now I have mattracks. How are yours wearing?
The front differentials don’t have lockers so yes you will always have one front track that drags in a scenario where you are forcing the tracks to spin. Under normal driving conditions the two front tracks will share the power but when one breaks loose it then gets 100% of the power and the one with traction is forced to drag. That’s just how an open diff works. With rear diff lock the two rear tracks are connected together and both will put power to the ground. If you have never had your tracks spinning it’s only because you have been in bad enough conditions. I have been in 3’ of snow with all the tracks spinning and I still can to a halt and got stuck. I then needed to winch out.

I do not believe this is correct. I a open Diff it's one ore the other NEVER both (that would be a LS you described) . " with all the tracks spinning " if ALL spinning WITH POWER you have a LS or a locker up front & rear. I don't know of either for the front ??
