Anyone heard of this site b4? Seems really cool. I stumbled upon it while searching for kei vans. And there is lots of other really cool vehicles out there for sale. Wondering if anyone has had any experience with these guys or experience importing some of this stuff. I know that the mini trucks are importing into this country under the farm vehicle clause, however, not sure if you could consider some of this stuff for a farm? http://exchange.goo-net.com/ I was looking at some of the little diesel jobs they have on this site, very very cool... If nothing else, just cool to see what people are allowed to drive in other countries. I wish that stuff was available here. I hate almost every car choice I have on the American Market as of today, yesterday, and the foreseeable future. o8k
The sight is still there, they just changed the domain name/url for their sight. Try this link: http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/ I've found they have a pretty expansive list of Kei trucks and was able to use the search criteria very effectively to find the vehicles I was interested in. Can't say that about all the sights I've used.
They are brokers - They put all the Japanese local dealers/sellers in a list, then if you show interest, they contact the seller, add on their fee. They are legit, but awesomely expensive. If you can get a price you are happy with, they will deliver. I found a nice dump truck locally (Japan) at $1700, they would sell thru Goo.Net. By the time they were done, cost was $2750. Again, they will deliver, and if you are happy with the price, then good for you, but there are better brokers.
Goo-Net is a big used car listing service in Japan. You could think of it as the Japanese equivalent of Cars.com, where people and companies list new and used cars on there for people to buy. They do not own/have any of the cars, they are simply a marketplace. GooNet Exchange is their exporting branch where they also utilize an export broker to handle the deregistration and exportation. They are the same idea as Tradecarview.com. If you are looking for a company that has the vehicles themselves and export as well, I would look at Royal Trading or AutoRec. Both are well respected and have been around quite a while. I personally bought my Sambar from AutoRec via a listing on TradeCarView. If I had known that I could have bought directly, I would have saved about $200 from the fees that TCV charged them.
Somewhat unreliable on the displayed prices. Just asked for a Honda Vamos that was supposedly just 10,000 yen. In reality, the price is 450,000 yen that is only visible on the Kings Auto version of the site that the agent showed a picture of. Their charges also seem somewhat high, 110,000 yen just for their own charges, inland transporation etc. Then another 120,000 for ocean freight ro/ro when two times previously I've imported a Japanese kei vehicle all the exporter + transporation fees were anywhere around 100,000 to 150,000 yen combined.
Goo-net-exchange is just a listing website, so each seller has their own policies and fees that they use. I would never use a seller that purposely bait-and-switched their price on a listing site, which I am sure there are more than a couple that do that. Out of curiosity, who was the seller? Goo-net is also aimed at selling within Japan. As such, it would not include the various deregistration, exportation documentation, and port transport fees by default. I believe those fees to be fairly correct as well, depending on how far away from a port they are. As for the RO-RO shipping.. 120,000yen sounds just about right.. my Sambar was just shy of $1000 including the insurance.. I would stick to listing sites that specialize in exports, like TradeCarView, CarFromJapan, or AutoRec, as they list their prices as "FOB" which would include all of the fees to get a vehicle onto the boat.
What goo-net-exchange does, is they list the unit price without giving out the "total price" like goo-net does. Basically their whole site is unreliable, you can't actually gauge what you are going to spend without gong to goo-net to check the item you found on goo-net-exchange. http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/HONDA/VAMOS/700052022230180607004/index.html https://www.goo-net.com/usedcar/spread/goo/13/700052022230180607004.html
