why Is it so hard getting struts for this truck under 200-300 bucks for one side! Read plenty of treads about this issue!!also everything I find is in the uk ! Nothing on rock auto also
Like I said for under 300! I feel like 300 is insane! I man I can go buy some for a car that Weighs twice as much an cheaper
Go to eBay, and search for “KYB (633117, 633118)”. You probably won’t get any results. Open the filters, and set location for worldwide. You should get results for England, and Australia. Roughly $80US/each depending on the exchange rate.
Are you sure that you need new struts ? When I first got my HiJet, it was bottoming out all the time, so I got new struts from England, for @ $80.00 each as previously noted. I was quite disappointed that it made no improvement. Only after I put 250 lb Afco springs, did it work properly. My original struts were probably good, but I had turfed them already
Find them ordered some 160 for both!!! I installed and they did improve the ride quite much but I use the truck on path! A hunting truck! Still bottoms out but no where near quite as easy have new spring coils on the way
I found them on eBay! Gotta keep looking day after day! Looked every day for a week on eBay! Couldn’t find em because no one was sell them in the U.S for a decent price! Then got up there the next day an there they were! Kyb 633117 & 633118
I got my springs from Summit Racing Equipment. Afco # AFC-23250CR 3" x 10" x 250 lb. $90.00 for the pair. They also raise the front end about 1 3/4". This creates positive camber on the wheels, so you will need camber correction bolts to bring them back to negative and longer rear shackles to lift the rear as well. This extra lift is great, and the longer travel allows the struts wo do their job . I also run 175 /70 /13 tyres which give me another inch of lift. All in all the truck handles like a champ and goes almost anywhere with ease
Ok so my truck has a 2" lift kit on it, the front has top hat's on the struts. Would I need to remove them if I go with the AFCO springs or leave them?
