would these follow the same rule of thumb that the rest of the auto industry uses? screw-on fittings = r-12 and quick connects = 134 I did a r-12 to 134 conversion on a 1990 nissan about a year ago and just bought the kit at an autozone for about $30.00 It boasted full compatability of all gasses and oils. I think it was an Interdynamics kit and came with simple screw-on adaptors, oil and gas on guaged cans. havent had any problems so far.
o-rings went bad on the high side and there was little or no r-12 to recover. I vac'ed it down with new seals and used one and a portion of another (Small) can to bring it up to spec on the low-side filler guage. I guess that would be just over 1 lb.
I have a 93 carry and I am, trying to figure out which is the low side so I can recharge? My thought is as normal with any car it is the larger diameter line, but what is throwing me off is the larger diameter line which is closer to the front of the truck has a black cap on the quick connect port and an H listed on it. Can u confirm whether that is the correct line to refill and if a 1993 takes r134?
I did some research and found that R12 has threads on the nozzles and R134 has the quick connects. On my truck it looks like someone did a conversion to 134 on the low side so i assumed that they had already used 134 before in the system. Went ahead and added 8 oz of 134 and now Suzie is Blowing snowflakes!!
300g +/- 20 is the typical kei A/C capacity. 9.9 oz - 11.3 oz I always charge to the low end of the spectrum.
