hi Everyone, I purchased a 1991 Honda Acty Street van a couple months ago and had it quickly added to my driving insurance. Now my agent is telling me they won't renew my insurance for me (for this car and another car) because of the Honda. What are other people doing for insurance? I wind up driving my little van a lot during the week and take it camping a couple times a month so definitely want to have it insured. Any input from folks who have gone through this would be greatly appreciated.
I have my truck liability insured thru GEICO. Its less than $25 a month for me, with it being the only car on the plan. All my other cars are with METLIFE, which refused to insure the mini truck. I have heard good things about STATE FARM and HAGERTY.
Hi SeattleActyVan - I also recently purchased my Acty from Sodo-Moto! We call him Momo and he loves his new home on Vashon island. I actually just got mine insured today - through State Farm - with practically no difficulty at all. Just had to send them a pic of the VIN badge, pic of the WA registration, and a pic of the vehicle, plus provided the appraised price (sale price through Sodo-Moto), and voila!
Hopefully you have better luck with State Farm than I had with Farmers. They originally added the car without an issue, then wouldn't renew my policy. I wound up going with a Progressive policy so am all road legal and insured again. And CONGRATs on the new Acty and welcome to the club.
