Spotted two keitrucks in WA

Both are different times and I am not sure if either owners are here. If you guys were on here, it would be cool to start some little Kei truck meet and cruises here in the PNW.

First was a random spotting while riding in a friend's car in Seattle, WA. I think it was a 80s Acty, which was sky blue. Very nice truck... and if I was in my Hijet at that time I would have pulled over for a picture.

Second one was a few months ago at the gas station at the Seaplane Navy base here in Oak Harbor, WA that I live near. I was in my Hijet waiting for my laundry in the laundry mat to finish when I noticed his rhinolined Suzuki pull up to the gas station behind me. I ended up walking over to say hi and he pulled up to get our pictures taken together. His was his farm truck and rarely saw action on the roads I think. But just like mine, he had managed to get plates for his. So having two US road legal trucks in the same spot was rare in my eyes :D.

Just saw 3 in the same place at JDM Car & Motorcycle LLC on Aurora Ave N in Seattle!

(no, I'm not the dealer, and no, this isn't a plug - just a sighting...)

If you live up near Seattle check out Sodo Moto (2548 airport way s) they specialize in kei cars and get a ton of mini trucks in. Theyre actually doing their grand opening on Saturday (the 15th) which might include a parade of some kind.

Apparently they've been selling tons of kei trucks so maybe a kei truck meet and cruise isn't so far off...I'd actually be really interested in doing that as well!

Oh yea, this post was way before SODO started up... but man... have been planning on going over and visiting there when I get back from deployment in a few months. It pains me that I leave for deployment and all these cool kei truck owners come outta the woodworks while I am gone lol. Before then, it was a few of us, or just not that active online. These past months I have seen a whole lot of new owners and even the start of a local PNW FB group (called North American kei owners club) lol.

I have talked to Asael, the owner of SODO-Moto, many times and he is a really cool guy. I have been meaning to take my Hijet down to there even just to hang out and look at all his stuff when I come home, as my truck should be out of the shop and back on the road by then. I know of the Grand Opening of his place on the 15th and the possible cruise around town after wards. Would love to go to, but can't in my present location. Maybe future events for sure. If your able to go, I would recommend it. Looks like it will be really fun.

I am not too far away. Still a drive, but home for me is Oak Harbor WA over on Whidbey Island.

Aw, that's too bad you can't go. Definitely gonna drop by if I can. I'm totally gonna bring up the idea of doing coordinated cruises around town or in specific areas to see if anyone else is into it. I'm new to the area so I'm not sure what the best route would be, but I've been absolutely dying to get out on some "country backroads" with my truck and just cruise the whole day away

    Yea, sad I can't go too :(

I know a few country backroads. Especially the ones through Whidbey Island and Snomish Indian Reservation. Those are nice ones. And if you take them going south there is a huge hill that feels like going down a rollor coaster lol.

I would be down for Kei truck/car/van meets and cruises. Never really seen those happening in WA. And with more and more owners, that really needs to happen! That or we all mob to a car show or meet or something. There are weekly meets at Henry's donut shop in Mukilteo on Fridays (that are usually packed if you get there late after 9 or 10pm). And next door to a pizza place and a Chinese (or Japanese) food place.

Thanks for the suggestions! I might just drive up there one of these days. Although those spots are kinda far from where I live.
As for cruises and car shows I'm so down! Especially after I get my truck all fixed up.

Are the meetups at Henry's donuts/pizza/chinese/japanese an organized group situation?

Lol, yea most of my routes are up north away from stuff lol. I'll let people know here when I'm back :D

Ehh... it kind of is? It happens randomly on some other nights too whatever is going on. Mostly is of various people and those who are the ones saying if the meet is happening or not have agreements with the store owners on when/where people park. If it gets out of control, then no meets would happen there. But it is a good place to see random cars of various classes and have food at the same time.

It's fun if you have nothing to do. Sometimes it gets packed so when that happens, I usually pull into the back and wait until someone leaves which is constantly happening. Of course with a Kei truck, you have no worries on navigating through and getting a spot. On

Usually they put it out on the PNW Car Enthusiasts page on FB.
