I'm working on a 1997 HiJet with the EF-GS engine. I have the service manual but it doesn't really have much for the twin cam engines.

Bought it in pieces, rebuilt the engine but I'm getting low compression.
All valves have clearance and rings are new so i'm pretty sure its the timing. crank mark is simple enough but not sure about the cams.

Each cam gear has two marks maybe 5 teeth away. Anyone know for sure how to correctly align them? Can post pics if it helps

Did a leak down test, air is escaping through intake valves (yes I have valve clearance).

Looks like I'll be pulling head back off.

Turns out to be a warped head. Not sealing between cylinders.
