4WD will not engage????? Bad Switch?

I've got 1990 Carry that the 4WD has stopped working. Worked when I first got it, it worked well, no issues. After a few weeks, the axle lock light on the left side of the steering wheel stopped lighting up (some days it was on, some it wasn't), and then, no more 4WD. We have checked all the vacuum lines, they seem to be good. I read a post (which I can't find now) where there is a switch behind the glove box box that can go bad, and replacing that switch solved the problem. I found the switch online here: http://yokohamamotors.net/page57.html
Is there a US distributor that might have the same part?
Is there something else that should be checked? The truck is great except for the lack of 4WD, which i need to get around the farm. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

The link you provided comes up with the start page on their site so don't know what you are referencing, but there have been numerous posts in different areas on this site that mention the electric controlled vacuum switching valves getting "seized" by corrosion and such to the point they wont work.

Thanks Fred. I was hoping that someone would know where I get similar parts in the US. A quick search didn't turn up much, and I haven't had much time to look again. I'll keep looking.

Do you have the part number? Is yours a DB51 or a DD51?
I understand the dd has the box behind the steering wheel?
If yours is a DB51 (same as mine) I would like to know where it was and what the part number was and how you ordered it!
    Thanx

    I ordered it from here:

If you scroll down the page about 1/3 of the way, you will see it. I'm not sure where the part is to be honest. I had a guy that works on my ATV replace it. Hopefully, someone can chime in and tell you where to locate it. It seems like the location is mentioned in a another post that lead me to order this part. It seems like it was behind the glove box, but don't hold me to that, I'm not sure. I hope this helps you some, or at least gets you started in the right direction. Good luck getting it fixed!
