I am in Eastern CT and looking to enter the world of minitrucks. I had a great experience getting a Chinese dirt bike shipped so I'm a little familiar with the process. I've been on a few web sites and seen the inventories available. I want one for general use around home and for short errands. Maybe get a trailer hitch fabbed up to pull the dirt bike. So, who is the best supplier to work with and which truck do you recommend? Are they good in snow, or do I need a 4WD one? I like the Dihatsu with the round headlights, and I've looked at a 1990 Subaru Sambar with 4WD, 4 cylinder motor, but at 77k kilometers, will it need a lot of work, ie: timing chain, etc. Love to hear your response and thanks.
Welcome from western MA!! I have a Subaru Sambar and love it. Definately go 4 wd. I’m new here myself. There are a lot of very helpful people here for sure!
Welcome! I went with Japancardirect.com I didn't get everything I wanted, but I'm happy and they are honest. You do have to put a day aside to get it out of customs jail.
There is Eric in Glastonbury Ct. I got mine from Ross motor cars in Torrington. He also has a lot in spfld. Told me the other day he has 10 or 11 coming in august. I can get you his info. He did all the registery stuff too!
Definitely get the 4wd, I can't get my Suzuki up my gravel driveway in 2wd. The back of the truck is very light, I weighed with a scale each rear wheel and the truck is 340 pounds under each rear wheel.
There's several ways to add weight to the back end, the only problem is your going to decrease your mileage if your going far and it's an everyday driver! Rear bumper, added weight with sand bags,(easy), cement blocks, sand bags are a better choice, whether home made or store bought. Their denser, and volume wise work better. You have options, but I'm a 4 wheel drive guy so I don't really have traction issues! Limestone
