Front End Rattles

Discussion in 'Daihatsu Hi jet' started by CobequidTrails, Jul 1, 2012.

  1. Is it just me or does anyone else have rattles coming from the front end of their truck when running on rough roads? I had the truck on a hoist as I was sure there was soemthing loose in the steering or suspension but everthign appeared ok. I did discover that the backside of the brake calipers were loose in their slide pins.... could this be the source of the rattle?

Just to clarify, it is not while the suspension is working that it happens, just as the wheels are knocked around on rougher roads. Is there something I'm missing? Is this common for the back half of the caliper to be this loose or are my pins toast (haven't taken them off yet)?

    Thanx...

Check the rack end pinion re grease it , check also the center post bushing, i have the same issue with my carry

  3. Thanx... by center post bushing do you mean on the steering assembly? Is this bushing inside the rack or outside?

Forgive my ignorance on these trucks, they are definitely different animals than trucks I am used to.
