I just recently bought a 94 suzuki it is running hot.it was low on water.i added water and i replaced the thermostat. i was reading and they say you should drill a whole in the thermostat to help flow and so it can be bleed. if there is no hole should i do this. or any other suggestions

Did you replace it with a factory thermo or the Firefly equivalent? Factory, no hole needed, Firefly/Sprint, you need to drill a 1/16th hole in a spot that won't interfear with anything or be blocked by the gasket.

An easy method is drive your truck up some ramps, so the front is elevated about a foot, this makes the radiator cap the highest point. Open a COOL radiator cap, fill, start and let it get to temp, running the heater as well, should move all the air in your system up and out the cap hole:D

You could also use the bleeder screw on top of the thermostat housing...

    OK,

I keep hearing about drilling the vent hole in the radiator cap but can't really visualize where that would go without letting off pressure all the time or doing nothing.

If anyone has a pic of that it might save me from turning my truck into a big whistling mobile tea kettle.

running with high temp? i did open the drain plug and the cap of the radiator drain all the water inside put hose with running water, start the engine let it run for 10mins flush out all rust:D it works without coolant. drilling the the thermostat? why not remove a piece that blocks it.

Hey all, is it a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water like north American cars, or a different ratio?

That's what I use.If you can find any, put some extra rust inhibitor in it as these engines seem to have a rust problem. I thought it was just the Japanese coolant but Prestone rusts up too.
