Heading to Savannah next week to pick up my Sambar from port. I've never picked anything up from a port and was wondering if anyone had any insight or advice?

I don't have a TWIC and don't plan on getting one so I'll have to pay an escort. EasyISF is doing the customs clearance for me so I should be good there.

My plan is to get a Uhaul vehicle trailer there in Savannah and drive it back to Huntsville using my truck.

    Woohoo! Got it home!

The port, the thing I was most worried about, was actually very easy. All they looked at was the Bill of Lading and the Pick up Order, which has a number they need off of it.

The drive back was a different matter. I was using my '67 Chevy to tow it and I dislodged a freeze plug halfway back. Had to stop every 1/2 hour to fill with water. Ugh! A 7 hour drive became 11 hours.

Absolutely! Idle was a bit rough so I removed the carb and cleaned it and now it's totally smooth.

Went to the DMV today today to see what my options were for registering and they just registered it like any other truck. I told her I thought it should be a LSV and even showed her a picture of it but she went ahead and gave me normal plates! Kinda cool!
