I hadn't checked out the forum traffic until just now. I was searching for this site on the TapaTalk app and came up empty. Then I noticed that this forum's numbers are pretty low/slow. No offense to the users or moderators but why is that? I only ask because if anything the mini-truck business is growing in the U.S. So either I'm early to the party and it hasn't taken off yet or this place has seen better usage rates. Just curious, if someone who's been around for a while (or a mod) can clue me in I'd appreciate it.

So is there only one administrator? How many active mods? I guess I should have titled this thread "forum history". So this site has been around for 9-10 years and I guess it has seen better days. Looks like there have been a few members with decent fabrication skills! I've already found some pretty cool stuff. Anybody care to shed some forum knowledge for a newbie?
there is a tonne of information here. perhaps your confused by our numbers because of the low number of new posts. As it says repeatedly search before posting. Back several years ago this forum was in full swing. Dealers were popping up everywhere. Then the EPA put a halt to importing and made dealers/importers certify the engines. Due to the high cost of certification, almost all dealers closed their doors. This also drove the prices of these trucks up to the point where you could get a used side by side for the same price. This is just my observation after being a part of this forum for many years. Greg
Don't have any idea of what your expectations of a forum are but I can only assume that for most of us already here this forum is adequate to what we expect, at least nobody complains about it being low & slow. Very well organized and does not waste a bunch of bandwidth with worthless posts & threads. There is a world of info about these little jewels if you do some searching. Fred

I hope nobody has interpretated this thread negatively. I do not join random forums to stir the hive. I was simply surprised as to why there aren't more active users here. Anyway, I'm here to learn about mini trucks and to check out some fabrication ideas. As I mentioned in my intro thread, I am not one to ask questions before attempting to search for the information myself. Thanks all for the insite.
Lots of good info here, but some is buried. I spent a year reading this site before I purchased my truck, glad I did, As I knew what I wanted to buy and what my plans were once I got my truck. I was really interested in making sure I could drive on road in AZ , and after info here I was able to maneuver through the AZ bureaucracy, 5 visits to DMV, and prevail with title and on/off road registration and title.
We used to party on down here back in the day... There is a ton of info here if you look for it or know how to work the Internet. I don't post much anymore but your post intrigued me to respond. I love Arizona. Wish i lived there. Good luck, and if you run into trouble... Post here.
Yeah, Greg hit most of it on the head regarding forum activity 8 years or so ago and now. There is still just one admin and a handful of us moderators. I'll confess to not being very active at all in the last couple of years. But I've been actively enjoying my truck and still see them as a great alternative to your typical SxS. oh...and Hi Greg! I'll second that. I also think that one reason why the forum could be considered "slow" is because mini trucks/vans are such a small niche item that aren't widely popular as, say, Mustangs, or classic cars, or other things that a lot of people have. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just seems like not a lot of people have mini trucks/vans or even know that they exist. Until 2012 I had no idea they existed. Then I searched high and low online and heard nothing but aggravating horror stories from people trying to get them street legal that I just gave up ever trying to get one. What fun are they if they can't be driven on the road? Or at least, that is how I see it. Luckily for me, I found a guy who imported an Acty van and I scooped it up as fast as I could because he had already put in the work of getting it registered here in Arizona.
