Made our summer run to the best place to get a sun burn. Crystal Beach is located southeast of Houston. Its a peninsula that has two ways to get there from Houston. Either drive another 150 miles around or take the 30 min. ferry ride from Galveston Island. We took the ferry. Had a great time. As pictures note we took two of my favorite mini trucks. A S83p and a S110p Daihatsu. Had plenty of people looking and asking question. Crystal Beach is the only beach I know of on the Texas Coast that UTV's and Golf Carts are legal. The beach was totally full of people. And yes the sights were to say the least pleasant. Dont hurt to look. To you guys from BC, CA ya'll are not the only ones that have ferries. Galveston is a pretty neat place to visit. Has a lot of history behind it being an old Port. These days most of the ships go up into the port of Houston to load and off load. Moody Gardens is a really neat place to visit in Galveston. It houses most of the fish found in the Gulf of Mexico well as a Tropical Forest with all the vegetation you could find in South America. Right up the road towards Houston a neat place to visit is NASA. Its the main control center for the now defunked Space Shuttles. Which made its last run a couple of weeks ago.
trail riding so do you know of any other places here in texas where you can drive your mini truck? i live in san antonio and would love to find a place to drive around. thanks
There is a jeep trial due east of Marble Falls about 10 miles. I think it cost 20.00 per day. Seems like the Austin 4x4 jeep club has a meet out there couple times a year. Several jeep trails in east Texas. Get on the web and stat seaching you'll find some places. I would also think SA would have a jeep club.
