3" lift or what?

    16197391902216817402262527280291.jpg 16197392167989013074678797039252.jpg Just wondering what the heck is on my truck. I been reading online 2 in lift is way to go but this already has 3" on it. Really haven't paid much attention to it because been focused on the mechanical. Just happened to notice it has 25" tires with alot of clearance which raised my curiosity of what it has on it in way of lifts. Just weird the rear seems stock

    The front lift is equals to the length of the black spacer, and it looks to be 3-inch. It will eat the left outer CV Joint, which you can replace. But it wall also muck up the inner, and I haven’t been able to source those.

    So, I recommend pulling the 3-inch and installing a 2-inch kit. Typically the rear is done with extended shackles on the springs. There used to be a few kits which had an add-a-leaf. But, I haven’t seen one on any of the sites in a while. I did an add-a-leaf or my S110, with leaves out of an old set of trailer springs. Adding it in, and it isn’t a perfect fit, effectively re-arched and stiffened the stock springs.

    I agree with Jigs! I remember when I was doing mine, and the General Consensus, unwritten rule of thumb seemed to be, no more lift than 2 inches, Max! Many of the old post, still contain this info.

    You can get away with the 3-inch lift. But to do it you need to put spacers between teh front differential support and the body to drop the differential down and decrease the angles on the half shaft and protect the CV Joints. And, to do that you need to extend the bottom of the steering shaft to get it long enough to reach the dropped steering rack.

    Yeah I did do alot of reading about using 2" lift is the way to go. I will have to change all that over once I get all the Vacuum lines replaced and get this overheating issue resolved...Drove it 2 times and both times getting real hot even after Installing new stat and cap...Probably just clean the whole system and check the thermo etc...

    Yeah that probably explains why the left side front wheel looks all out of whack because of the messed up geometry from the 3" lift .Minus the dry rot you can tell both front tires mainly the left has very unusual wear from the geometry being way off.

    The rear looks to be a spring over axle flip. I believe stock the axle sits on top of the spring
