I found loose connection at the Ignition Switch at the steering wheel. I pulled the covers off and held the switch in my hand with the truck running. Wiggle one wire and the radio and Heating fan would start working and the motor would straighten out. Re-soldered connection and seemed to hold.
Since sold truck as no one was willing to give me a price to insure it.

Shot in the dark here with the old post, however I am having trouble with cold starts. My HA4 won't high idle. When I cold start I have to nurse it along to keep the idle up. Once it is warm tho it runs great, starts right and runs like a top. I can feel the coolant go to the choke but I don't think anything moves. The cap for the diaphragm should I take that off and check? Also it is definitely running rich during the poor cold starts. Little bit of smoke as well. Thanks

check the solenoids on the carb, they regulate airflow thru the carbs to get the correct air fuel mixture, see the youtube in my post # 41

Hello, did you end up bypassing it completely and leaving the bolt? I'm having a hard time seeing where you put the bolt in the last picture but I've been chasing a strange issue for the last year and I'm thinking I'm a try to bypass the solenoid and do it without pulling the entire carb,
