I've had a lot of people ask me about opening up Regional Sections. Please let me know your thoughts on this.

My concerns is that if we open up a lot more sections the information will start to be posted in the wrong places.

Please vote and let me and other know why we should or shouldn't do this.

    Thanks!

I am afraid that we will get too many sections and info will be hard to find and post in the right section. Although we need to start a "where are you from" thread! :D

I think a regional section would be great as maybe a sub section in the dealers section. That way a guy from the west east coast doesn't have to sift through all the dealer to find on near him...

You mean, sort the list of dealers beyond by state/province as it is now? I suppose I could do that if it would be helpful. But folks might not like how I lump things together. :(

I think regional forums would only work if they are limited to more "social" threads. Otherwise, as JR points out, we may really be diluting things and useful posts and information will get lost.

I say no now. Maybe in the future as the site membership grows there might be a need.

I think it would just be more confusing for people to find and post what they are looking for.

Definately not any more separation. I want to see all of the information we offer eachother in one place. Where are we from...? Thats already listed in the corner of each post.

It should be, some people are not using it. I think everyone need to fill that field in. That would help.

I glad to see everyone is participating. I agree with most of you that, we would start to see posts that should be in the General in some other section and it would be hard to goto one place to get the information you need.

I agree with Dan. The info is the important thing and being able to find it is what matters. A posted solution to a problem is not a regional issue. If someone needs to follow up on an issue they can. and Acerguy has the list of dealers in fine shape (and Thanks).....later, slim

The only thing region sections are good for is if people want to do get togethers or hang out and meet. That way you know who is from your neck of the woods.

umm, maybe not a totally region based forum, but a section where you can ask specific questions regarding your truck and local laws etc.

Perhaps we could add a "Legal" section. Kevin?

This is a touchy subject here on the forum. Not sure how we could do this with out making a huge deal out of it and breaking the forum rules. 'Cause you know the first thing that is going to be asked is..."How do I get my truck legal.?"

With a little moderator encouragement, I think we could keep it on the straight and narrow. It would be a great place to post topics such as this.

  18. I don't think a regional section is needed right now. Like was stated earlier, that's good for local "clubs" get-togethers, etc. which I think we're just one big "worldwide" club right now. (And a great one at that!)

I find that I learn a lot from guys in other parts of the country and what they are trying. If we make it regional, I feel we would loose some of what makes this forum so unique, our wide areas of expertise. For now, let's keep it simple and maybe revisit later after more ideas are discussed. Just my two cents worth.

Hi. I’m new to this forum and mini’s. May I ask why seeking advice and guidance from more experience members how to be “legal” would be a bad thing? I have no desire to do anything illegal so if it is frowned upon to ask forum experts (you guys:)), who would you, suggest I ask?

Thanks in advance for any polite assistance.

Mini Trucks not EPA certified to be driven on the Roads.

Many will and do talk about using their mini trucks on the road here in the US. Many states allow their use on their roads. The problem that exists is they have been imported for the most part as a (speed restricted) off-road use only vehicle. All current EPA certifications are for off-road use only. So you using it on the road is a violation of a federal law. Your state may say ok to you driving it on their roads but the federal government is not ok with it.

To make it "legal" would involve having them crash tested and EPA tested to a higher standard than they are currently tested to. And of course all this costs lots of $$.

I hope this gives you some understanding.

    Regards,
