Yes it was a little light in the front for sure, but not unsafe feeling.
I had another huge load in the other day and had the heavy end up to the cab, but with the heavy crane up front it felt really really heavy in the front and the two front 65 psi 8 ply tires were really low looking on air.
It kind of freaked me out so I now try to put the weight on the rear axle more where the massive springs and 4 tires are.
Saying that, this one really is a little wacky.

I'm delivering the log in the morning to the mill, then it's off to get another one and back to the mill again.

I'm driving slow on the corners as always though.

Ordered a Mikuni TM32 carb for change out on my new toy "new to me anyway". Will be putting snorkel on as well, pretty dusty here in Nebraska. It's a "95 I think" Suzuki Carry 660cc

 

Went 4 wheeling on the weekend

 

Took a couple of my rides to the beach

People ask me all the time if it's hard driving a RHD truck, but it's really not I tell them, it's mostly in the mind.


Packrat, the 4 wheeler looks perfect in that little van!
I miss our little van, if they were only better on fuel I would have kept it.

 

With a little help from a dremel, a file, and a few extra screws I put a Kenwood deck and 2 speakers in to replace the original am radio and single paper speaker.

hey Coast Steve, you can hook up and standard car audio or any other 12v device to you truck with a 24v to 12v converter... i did it on an old tractor once. Just google 24v to 12v converter... Farmtronics.com pops up and its under electrical products, it will run ya about 200 bucks. looks like a bunch of other places online carry them also so shop around and find a deal....or try a truck/transport shop or other farm dealer...used to be all kinds of 24v farm machines and heavy trucks that people convert/partially convert.

For Coast Steve,
Just put a 12v light, like a 1157, in series with the other 12v unit. Will also act as a fuse, depending on the amp rating of the light that you choose. 12v+12v=24v. You can do the same thing with LEDs to eliminate the resistor drop. Problem is, if one blows, they all fail. Think tree lights.

Easy stuff really.

 

ok so today i finished puting on some parts i had ordered forgot to take pics but i replaced the arms and ball joints(beings u can just do ball joints in mine) and the steering bushing with a stock one(couldnt find anyone to custom make me one in time for this weekend) my death wobble is now gone i can hold it at 90 km plus with three finger lightly still pulls a lil to the left but that is just needing to adj. a tie rod in a lil 15 plus miles on since parts we'll see how long it takes the bushing to go out.

On a different note has anyone else looked into the power steering any more or done it yet? im between that and a new paint job as the next project.

 

Installed some tailgate limiter chains on my Acty from scrap parts I found in the barn.

 

kbruce looks about like what i did other than on the tail gate i did the same as u did on the side ones with the d ring and all u will want some rubber hose or something to go over the chain sooner or late it bugs me every time i hit a bump

 

I hear ya on the rubber hose! I plan to do that... until then, I have wrapped the chain with black electrical tape to keep the clanking noise down

I took Buckwheats advice on this though and bought a 24-12V converter.
It's a big one, a 60 amp unit.

Now I can run a radio, a cool roof light (for when the crane's running that is) and other lights I want to add later on.
I got one big enough for the 40 watt heater if I decide to do that VEG oil switchover from diesel

Coast Steve, yea, more than one way to skin a cat.
For a low amp unit I'd recommend pairing with a bulb in series.
For a high amp unit I'd recommend running dual 12V batteries in series and pull a feed line off the third pole.
A converter will also solve the battery redesign option.

 

I used tailgate cables from 2001 GM pickup on mine to replace the chain for the same reason . Doug

 

Looks good, I have had flairs on for about 1 1/2 years. They keep most of mud off and help with stones when on gravel roads. Doug

 

the rocks are the main thing before i take out a mirror. and on another not i started paint those silver rims planing on black for now till i get the truck painted ill make sure to take some pixs after i get it painted hopefully but the first of july or close to it

Actually figured out how to rewire my 4x4 switch to disengage my front axle while in low range .you still have to depress the switch to pull the lever in low but then you just press the switch again and it disengages the front axle , a must when you don't need 4x4 but you need slower ground speed, less stress on your cv joints also. 1996 Mitsubishi mini cab
