Neat tip about the 12v breakers. I have not seen those. Yeah, I just used standard in-line "mini" fuses. Even for the Hella Horns. :D I should be able to finish hooking up the winch tonight. Just the + and - cables.

Yup, you can find them everywhere. Even on today's vehicles(in the junction boxes). Manufacturers just save cash by installing the "cheapy" "one-goes". Every amp range that you want and they are made with extra long tabs with snap-points. Just break them off to the length that you want. Never change it again. For a winch, or other "high-amp" range, 50A+, they come with threaded cap mounts. Still, very tinny.

The winch Power points. Well, I've said it before, I never go "hard mount". I carry a "booster battery" with my set-up and switch form back to front to tree. But that's just me. Ever try to drag a moose out of the bush? I just jump from tree to tree with a length of chain, the winch, and the booster. FYI...

I put a whole new exhaust on, 1 3/4 pipe all the way and and old school Thrush glass pack muffler, re-did my front bumper and winch mount with a new skid plate
to the mid point of the truck. I'll post pics later today.

Nice. I can't wait to see pics. Did the exhaust have any kind of effect pro/con?

I think the exhaust helped on low end power, its a little loud but manageable. My truck ran so rich and this helped to lean it out some

Couple of tricks to pass along,
After putting up with a gas gauge that didn't go all the way to the top anymore, and a few other problems, I decided to replace the main wire harness 7-pin connector. This is the one just behind the rad, on the pass side. I hate pin connectors, hate them. I had the rad off anyway, to have it fixed, so good time to do it. I cut out the connector and soldered in 7 two inch jumpers, with heat shrink, then wrapped, then covered with accordion type electrical cover. The secret to soldering corroded wires is to give them a flux bath. While applying the iron, dip both into a small flux can at an angle. Like a river, the contaminants will wash away to the opposite side of the can. Never solder old-to-old, even if just 1/4" long. Always solder old-to-new. As too much contamination in the joint will cause the solder to crack.

    Rads and re-crimps,
Had a small leak, so small that it was misting. I often think that this could be a solution for some who think that their truck is running rich, as they can "smell it". A coolant leak will smell the same, to the laymen, but will "taste different". With a bit of age, and a bit of bashing, my rad developed a gasket leak...tank test it at a shop set-up to do proper repairs. They re-crimped it, re-tested, cleaned it (bugs), painted it, and flushed. Leak gone, 50 bucks. I do have an inline filter in my coolant system but it seems like it can't keep up. The pre-line keeps getting plugged so bad that it has to be replaced; can't blow it clear. I've taken to changing the coolant with a spare batch; rotating them. If left in clear jugs for three or four days, the contaminants settle out and the coolant becomes crystal clear. Keeping me ahead of the game anyway.

Also, they sourced a rad replacement for me, if anyone has the need. Suzuki Swift, replacement crosses, but no sensor. It would have to be plumbed into the circuit. At $125, I don't think that I'd mind.

Anyway, that's what I did yesterday...

  19. I added some beer can holders today. I used a 3" piece of driveshaft tube and welded a piece of flat iron on the bottom with a small hole in the bottom of the flat iron.

    IMG_0730[1].JPG IMG_0732[1].JPG

I just secured it with a flathead screw into the dash, with a small washer.

Today I hauled a monster wet Maple log.
    Check this out.

(Sorry mini trucks, only your big brother here can do this).
    The log is about 4500lbs
I wish it was a 4x4 like some of your cool trucks though.

FYI. I went on the scale empty to get the trucks weight and it was 2,980KG,s so I think that's about 6500lbs I think
