Well my Mini Truck is finally on it's way from Northern Minn (Petoskey, Michigan) to Haslet TEXAS... Kinda scary buying it sight unseen but very excited about the purchase.. I think I god a GREAT Deal... 2001 Daihatsu Hi Jet mini KEI truck, 4X4, 660cc fuel injected 3 cylinder, 5 speed manual, 27,000 kilometers, air conditioning, right side drive, 3" lift, ITP SS wheels, 23X8X12 Carlisle tires, camo paint inside & out, cab lights, Kenwood CD, folding bed sides. Very clean and very solid
Nice looking truck. Mine's a '01 too and I love it. I've been wanting to do the cab lights on mine just for fun.
Hey cool.. thats the one I posted a while back that was on craigslist. It is a nice truck. you will be happy with it.
I ended up getting it for $6800 which I think is a steal with all the add on's + low low miles it has.. I have went and looked about 25 of minis across Texas and most were in horrible condition... I ended up getting LUCKY on the shipping as the guy I bought it from bought a motor-cycle from the Dallas area and was having it shipped to Michigan, so the guy delivering to Michigan is bringing the MINI BACK to Texas.. Hope to have it next week...
sounds like you lucked out on the shipping. I think you got a good deal. There is a lot of extras in that truck. Congrats!
Really like the bed rails. Nice flow and very unique. Let me know what they are made from. Maybe compostie decking????
Greg, Ill let you know once I get it and agree the Bed Rails give it a differnt look.. I will agree I def lucked out on Shipping, Im glad I didnt pay attention to how far North this was in Michigan or I probably would have passed on it...
Erixun I have had many Sleepless nights and will be worse tonight as I go pick up the Mini tomorrow from a Dallas Warehouse. Thank Goodness for Tylenol PM lol.... Stuff99 I wish I had a week off work to make a nice road trip but if I drove my lifted gas guzzler it was have cost me double to get it back lol... Ill keep yall posted tomorrow
Picked the truck up today and wow u think it looks good in the pictures in person is 100 times better.. I haven't seen any in this good of condition out of the 50 I have looked at... BONUS I found out it does have power steering the person selling it wasn't sure as it was a trade in.. The rails are actually made of 2x4 wood and the ends are sanded then painted and Are very very sturdy... My wife even said wow and it takes a lot to impress her lol...
Posted some more pics not sure why they havent showed up yet.. ill give it some time.... A few things pretty neat on the truck.. The front bumper area it looks like took old tire and riveted it on the front bumper areas looks sweet... He aslo took sheets of rubber cut about 3 inches by like 8 inches and riveted them to the back area below the back window then camo painted once again looks Sweet... As far as the Rails its just 2x4's and the ends are sanded to a curve then has wood post into the bed.. He has the hard plastic on the sides of the beds and the rails go behind that. Very Very Sturdy.... About the only thing I have not figured out to make work is the top cab lights. I would have thought they would be tied into the main lights so anytime the lights are on the cab lights on top are on but not the cast. There is 1 toggle switch in side but all that controls is the Big Light on the back of the cab.. Ill keep playing around looking where the lights tie into.. I plan on having work make me a new custom battery box so I can get a bigger battery for it... Any thoughts or suggestions on this??
i think its cause you have the pictures copyrighted. i can see them if i right click on the broken image and open in new tab. it opens the flickr page though.
Here is the SET I have Uploaded... http://www.flickr.com/photos/60963090@N02/sets/72157626215366079/with/5556117072/
Ah, i got it. you were using the URL for the preview pictures. if you go in to the picture and pick a size you get a correct picture. Must say it really does have a good "wow" factor to it! ex
Very nice looking truck!!! But that doesnt look like power steering in the pictures.. It looks like the standard steering all hijet trucks have..
Im pretty sure everything is the same except for an electric assist motor attached to the rack and some wiring that goes to the fuse/relay panel under the drivers seat.
Is there a such thing as a VIN# on these Trucks?? I'm gonna get insurance just in case I wreck this thing at the Ranch or if someone steals it.. I know the insurance company will want some type of VIN or serial #....
