I looked at putting that engine into my old carry. its a twin cam 3 with turbo. none of it will fit the SOHC head.

I love how the truck looks like it has a cape flying in the wind hahaha

I am SO jealous that you have a place like that so close to your house... what suspension mods did they have to do in order to get the truck to corner like that? Love that song too, it's in quite a few of my favorite drift vids!

i was wondering the same thing. does it also have a limited slip differential? when i try that with my truck one wheel starts to spin..lol

As for suspension, I have no idea. I'll check if I ever see the truck at the track. I'm sure it has a limited slip diff. I have one in mine as well.. I took it out of a 4WD carry before it got junked at me shop. I suppose you could just weld it together too.

    Hi, Don, couple of questions
    - which size tires are legal on road for mini-trucks in Japan?
    - what is the legal minimal "road gap"(between road surface and bottom of vehicle)?

    Thanks

Truly legal sizes are on the sticker inside the door jam.. and I believe they have to be 6 ply tires for kei trucks.

In practice, nobody seems to care here. I run 195/60 R13's in the rear, and just bend the sheetmetal out by hand for a make-shift fender flare.

I believe minimum gap is still 6cm from the lowest part of the vehicle (includes muffler) to the road.

195 that's quite wide tires, how about front ones? With spacers? And what's the story about warrant of fitness(or whatever the name of vehicle condition check) with non-standart tires?

At moment i am on standart ones and feels like on the garden bench, thinking about 175/50R13 - my main idea is get wider tires with little bit smaller diameter to make van lower and get little bit more torque. Also thinking about bigger brake discs, but they might cost a fortune.

And only after making safe tires and brakes i can start think about perfomance :)

Oh i forgot to tell - my "toy" is Every DE51V 1997 F6A PA limited in white color and just about 75000km on odometer

I use 175/60/13 tires on 13x5.5" aluminium rims on my Every. It's quite close to the original 12" tire/rim diameter, ½% or so anyhow.

Just junked my old Carry, and bought a newer one :)

5 speed much better for the expressway here. 4 speed just had the RPM's way too maxed out @ 100km/h.

Bad things are open diff, no A/C, and 100mm lug spacing. Have some nice Watanabe rims that won't fit now :(
