But just couldnt find the animals we needed, so the freezer stays empty :frustration:.

But we saw some pretty country. And the truck was fun!

Thanks, but I don't know if you want to go hunting with me... this year all I will be eating is "TAG soup" since I did not fill one tag....

But thanks for the nice comments, I am trying to put together a week long trek throught the back country in the spring.... if I can get a kitchen pass from the wife and time off from work...

Ahhh I still wouldn't mind hunting with you (I haven't gotten a deer yet this year either :/) it's all about the adventure. I mean meat in the freezer is good too but going there is at least 50% of the fun for me :D

So I'm seriously considering getting ATV rims and some DOT certified ATV tires... just because I would love to have better flotation and and mud performance but don't wanna change things out to drive on streets. But that'll have to be a ways off, I have to take care of my plowing situation first.

I have been thinking about the ATV rims as well, I threw the Kenda Bearclaws on the stock rims and they fit ok, but I bent a couple of rims while trail riding, once so bad that it broke the bead... a 2x4 and a BFH bent it back, but the stock rims seem a little soft, ....or maybe its my "gelatinous" ass is too heavy... anyway, I wonder if ATV rims with the extra "bead lock fold" around the edge would be better/stronger.

Yeah, I'm sure the aluminum rims are stronger, they're designed to take more abuse. I think the main function of the bead lock is to allow you to run really low pressure without losing your bead. Not 100% on that though.

    Air Pressure

My 24x8x12 Bearclaws on Delta steel rims are here, I will put on next week. I wanted to know what air pressures you are running front and back on your truck. Thanks

About 15 psi in the front and about 12 in the back, give or take. And depending on the trails/terrain I air them up or down, I have a compressor on board.... among all the other crap:D.

What size are your rims? Throw up a picture, because I think when these wear out, I am going with different size rims.... I really like the look of Ironravens truck!

I just got back from up north, installed new tires, the rims are Delta steel 12x 7 with 1" spacers to allow chains to clear.

Those look GREAT! Very nice dude, I was looking for steel wheels but never found any that had the correct bolt pattern while still being wide enough. I love my aluminum wheels but I do wish the front ones were wider...

So we went down south to the Arapeen trail system, (above Manti Utah) normally by the time of this year we can go all the way up and over. Not this year. We went up as far we could with the Rhino and the mini, a wheeler went about 50 more yards because of its narrower width. But then it got stuck in a drift. We didnt take a whole lot of pics, but here is a couple.

and a couple more.... I was suprised about all the tree tops that had broke off and covered the trails, and the smaller trees had been bent over from the snow....

cool ..still got snow......what's the altitude there?

Snow level is about 8000-9000' right now. The top of that mountain pass were we going up tops out at about 10800, so not extremely high. But we normally go fishing in some ponds that are in a canyon next to this one at the end of June for rainbow and cutthroat trouts, but this year we can't get there. But we hit 102 at home the other day, so it shouldnt last too much longer.

On a side note we are planning another expedition at the end of the month. We are going to West Yellowstone MT and Yellowstone NP, and are taking the mini.

We will try to drown some worms in a few lakes in Montana. Will take some pics while up there as well. There are lots of forest service roads in that area, so we are expecting to go exploring like we did last year in Deadwood SD.

Anyone been in that area and have some "have to do's?"

    Yellowstone NP

West Yellowstone, Montana bound on Sunday!!!!:D... wish I could leave now, but have to work tonight and saturday:frustration:. The mini-truck is loaded in the toy-hauler, which is hitched to the pickup, and the trailer is all packed. So all I have to do is unhook the power, turn the key on and drive away.... oh, and I guess get the family in the truck as well.:p

Will post some pics of the trip! We are planning on doing some trails in Montana and some fishing, not sure if we are going to drive it into Yellowstone NP or not, would be cool to get some pics with old faithful in the background. :pop: :pop:

Not much of a roughing it expedition, staying in a "campground" with full hookups for the wife. But the older I get, the more comfortable I like to be.
