Since this truck isn't for sale (yet) and there's no category for Nissan's (u62t really) I figured I would share here. Typically you only see Hijet jumbo cabs but Mitsubishi and Nissan both have them but they are EXTREMELY rare. We just picked this truck up the other night and it's probably one of the sweetest trucks i've ever gotten, pic is below, feel free to drool
Cool! I would like to see inside as well, as I have never seen one of these. What kind of options are on this one? Anyone have the specs on these little enigma's?
It is a rare truck indeed! We have only had just one over the years. It was a Mits. It looked just like yours. It also had the Nissan badge on the front. I do not know if Nissan has anything to do with it. Maybe they made the hood? You will sell it quickly because the X cab comes straight down and doesn't have the Daihatsu hump. You can easily extend the seat rails to get more room. Good buy!
What is this hump you speak of? That is def the coolest mini i've seen in a while. Wish i could get one down here for a decent price..
I've discovered that Nissans are produced for them by either Mitsubishi or Suzuki .... Subarus are produced by Daihatsu.
Ah ok, i see. That's due to the wheels being in different places though huh? I thought yall were talking about some kind of hump behind the seats, and was going to say that mine does not have that. It's flat back there..
Look closely at the pictures Big J. You can see the hump behind the seat. It doesn't have anything to do with the wheel base. See what I mean?
Oh trust me, like i said, if i could get one down here for a decent price, i'd def have one. I just looked at it again and it's still awesome.. haha Gung ho, I'm starting to feel like a real dummy. Are you talking about the hump on the back wall? I'm about to walk outside and see if i can figure out what you're talking about..
No problem Big J. The Daihatsu hump is behind the seats in the extended portion of the truck. Instead of going straight down the back of the cab they have a small cove above the engine access area. The Mits comes straight down and doesnt have a access door on the deck. Do you see now?
I understand now too.. Mine is not like the silver one in the pic though. Mine dips in (toward the front of the truck) right below the back window and stays the same all the way to the bed. It's not very obvious since the headache rack covers the curve. That's why i was confused. haha
Join the crowd Big Joel! Really, if you do not look for it you can miss it in a picture. It is a dumb design. It makes it harder to add a dumping tray or extend the seat rails, but everyone likes the extra 8 inches.
Gung Ho, When we built our first 20" extended cab we lifted the drivers seat with a 1/2" tube on each side and mounted it back about 4". It made the seat high enough that it went over the cab seam. Creates plenty of leg room. The dude that bought it was 6'4" 250lbs. I gotta a picture some where showing the mount we made. I'll see if i can find it.
T & H-I thought there might be an easier way. We flip the panel so the hump is down, but it take a bunch of time. If you get a chance to post any pictures of your job, I would sure like to see them.
