Anyone have seats installed in the bed of their mini?

Discussion in 'General Truck Info' started by 98 SNAKE EATER, Jun 7, 2009.

  1. I ordered up a pair of racing seats that I plan on installing in the bed facing backwards and possibly welding up some grab handles (Subaru Brat style) :)

Just curious if anyone here has done this before cause I'd like to get some ideas on building a proper mount

The rumble seat is a popular accessory for the mini truck. Here a is closer picture of the seat that we carry (you can see the frame for ideas). The design was well though-out as the seat is removable if you need the additional cargo area back.

  4. I like the rumble seat, but the price is a bit higher than my budget allows

Also, I wanted to go Brat style like this:

so I ordered up a pair of these:

    Only $31.95 a piece :D

I'll figure out the mounting and possibility of a quick release when they arrive...

very interesting, but is that even legal?

  6. The seats in the Brat are in fact legal :)

They were installed by Subaru so they could import it as a car (not a truck) and reduce importing fees

It's basically considered an open air passenger car

i was toying with the idea of making some of the bench side seats and soforth like the military trucks. guys do allot of airsofting around here, could be a plus to that!

to be legal in manitoba , all you need is the cab to be full , and you can have ppl in the back of the truck (w/o a seat...) but they have to stay at the back of the cab.

that was urban legend here in saskatchewan. if the seatbelts are full, they are full. no more passengers.

and of course for my idea its all off road and at slow speeds etc.

  10. Seats installed :)

I originally wanted Brat style handles, but decided on seatbelts instead (still on order)

Did you ever get seat belts installed? Where did you order those seats (seem plenty cheap enough)?
