i had 3 4'x8'x1/4" sheets of steel in the back, don't have pix of that... but here's one with 15 sheets of 3/4" cdx

 

LOL I suppose this beats the 800 pounds of liquid nutrients I had on-board for my first drive home....

I don't have a pic but I've had over 1500lbs in my personal U42T Mini Cab and it barely squatted!

 

Im not for sure, but Ill give a pretty fair guestimate based on experience.

Ive had at least 1,500 lbs. of firewood on mine at once.

It really didnt squat much at all, not like you would think.

And the dumb bed never hesitated once when I got it out of the woods and dumped it by the front door.

The more weight I put on it, the better it does in the woods and up and down the creek banks and trails.

I wish I had this truck 10 years ago

I had 1300 lbs of wet sand in the back of my Acty. The drive uphill (8% grade) was slow but high speed was 60 kph on the flat. Bull low gear definitely helped!

 

Had a few big loads in the back.

Had the complete rear subframe from a parts car Starion. Takes 2 strong people alot of effort to lift off the ground. As well as that i had 4 wheels, 2 struts, a door, fuel tank and other assorted peices.

 

I was google'ing around and noticed that there are add a leaf type "lift kits" out there. bringing it back to this thread.... Add a leaf's typically add to the load weight of trucks by quite a bit. Does anyone here have somthing like that installed, if so, how much more capacity would you say you recieved from it?

I am supprised, that the ACTY has leaf springs, being that its 4 wheel independent suspension and all. Anyways... Did you just measure the distance between the mount points to determine leaf pack length?

I dont own a mini yet but would love to source a leaf pack part b4 i buy one. Cuz im gonna rage on that little truck when i get it w/ mods-o-plenty. I've still been curious how the suspension was setup on the rear ends of both the subaru and the honda models, still a fuzzy area for me.

 

What size engine is your diesel? What is the hp & torque?

 

Must sip fuel.

Too funny, I am from the town the plow wind hit in 1995. Not too many people use that term, I grew up in Oxbow.

I am just getting started at abusing our Sambar SC. I tried to combine trips and ended up with 17 - 50 lb bags of stone, a new 100 lb grill in the box thrown on top, $150 worth of groceries stacked in the pasenger seat and floor pan, and my big, fat, sagging, white butt adding the last 200 lbs. Conservatively speaking, I would guess 1200 lbs of load. The 175-70 R13s looked fine. The 350 kg rating on the tailgate was meaningless. It didn't squat a bit. Our 87 'Burb sure would. The Sambar finally rode a little like a car instead of an unsprung brick or our old Kubota B2100. The supercharger made it go just fine in traffic, but I had to downshift to 4th on the hills of NH, maybe even 3rd a time or two. I drove the usual 80 kph for two lane hwy. It tracked real nice. I bet the brakes were overmatched, but noone died. Getting this truck was one of my better ideas.

The long bed dumper pictured by stuff99 looks handy, but I don't think it's a mini. The doors remind me of a nasty old mid-engined Toyota passenger van from way back when they looked like they would fall over sitting still, all tall and narrow, with a short wheel base. Come to think of it, the tall cab on the Sambar makes it look tippy too. It's only an illusion, I hope.
