    comp ratio

Thanks for posting those specs. I noticed the comp ratio is listed as 10.5:1. I have always used 10:1 and above as a rule for when to use premium (high octane) gas. Given that I may use 25 gallons a year in my truck she gets high test and Sta-Bil (sp?).

Anybody tried both 87 octane and 91/93 and have any thoughts? I'm not looking to start an epic battle or even a slight skirmish here - just real life, first-hand experience. Your brother's cousin's uncle's roomate's ex-wife's son-in-law's preacher's one-legged yoga instructor does not count!

Does it count if my one legged yoga instructer lost that leg while he worked at the suzuki manufacturing plant?

87 runs the best in my Carry. I put 93 octane in and it didn't want to idle but would run good while in motion. After I used up that tank, I put the 87 back in and it straightened right out...

    Fuel Octane

    Suzi-q,

Here are two threads that discuss fuel octane rating that might be of interest to you:

    http://www.minitrucktalk.com/showthread.php?t=3824

Also, here is what is in my manual for the 550cc mits (compression ratio 9.8:1)

"Use gasolines having a minimum anti-knock index (Octane Value) of 87. (R + M)/2. This designation is comparable to a Research Octane Number of 91."

Anyway I just use reg 87 in mine and don't have any probs or reason to try a higher octane......later, slim

Regular here too, but there have been a couple of customers who indicate their truck doesnt run on Regular.

Anyhow, on those specs, i love the "retreat" gear. Now I know what that R is for on the shifter. One guy told me reverse, someone else said race, but now i know its retreat.

    Ha.
