I think I've seen that same truck on ebay a several weeks ago? there was another "King" brand truck a few months ago on Ebay in Pennsylvania. It was a Red 4 Door diesel with the regular fold down bed sides, and it looked really clean. It went for less that $3500 Just with it had been a little closer to Oklahoma :frustration:
Impressive. But the photos have a "2005" date, so that makes me wonder when the photos were taken. Must be pretty powerful to handle the weight capacity and turning the dually wheels to hold it. Speedometer tops at 120mph, so it would probably hold highway speed decent. I would be a little concerned about getting parts and finding people to work on it though.
Interesting. I'd bet it's Chinese in origin although the "MPH" on the speedo is a little confusing. Also, considering that it is supposed to be a 2002 model, doesn't the interior look like it's from the 1980's? Still, kinda cool.
I'm guessing it's Chinese too. I just thought the diesel was interesting, but a Chinese diesel??? Prob'ly not a good idea!! The pic of the ID tag, shows rusty rivets holding it on, and looks like lotsa' rust on the injectors and air pipe. 525 miles? and, garage kept? Hmmmmm............. It'll be a LONG time before I will trust a Chinese vehicle.........prob'ly never!!

Since were kind of of the topic of Chinese mini trucks in this thread...............Does anyone have any experence with the NEW chinese mini trucks? I see there are several for sale on Ebay in North Dakota. I also checked into buying them new direct from China from several different mfg's. Pretty good prices, $4,400 for the standard mini truck, $4,720 for the 4 door version. $330 for A\C. $5k for shipping a container load of 7 of these trucks here to Oklahoma, "$714 for shipping per truck" Sounds awfull tempting. What do you guys think?
I bet you wouldn't have any trouble selling them here in Oklahoma, but just make sure you will be able to get parts and will be able to offer your customers service/maintenance options for the future.
Actually I meant to post his comment earlier: And people think it's hard to get parts for our Kei trucks try walking into NAPA to get parts for this! The parts aspect would keep me from getting serious about this truck
yeah, it would be scary not being able to get needed parts. People run into this on foreign or even small domestic tractors that are usually cheaper. Parts are not easy to find because the company doesn't have good supply chain. That's why I bought a Kubota tractor, which cost me a good deal more than some of the off-brands, but at least I know I will be able to keep it running in the future.
I thought about the parts aspect of it. Although I dont plan on going into bussniess of selling these. Just thought If me and a few of my buddies or someone around here "7 of us" would each buy one just for our own use. Not as an everyday driver, just for playing with and driving around town. So if I did have to wait a month or three on a special part it wouldnt bother me too much. I just wonder if there would be any legal issues with getting the trucks once they are here? Would they have to be labeled as "offroad" like the Japenese trucks, then title and tag it here in Oklahoma or? Apparently it CAN be done since someone is already selling these new in ND. Doug, I was more referong to the original post of the e-bay truck not the trucks you are looking at. I think you had better do lots of research first before you embark on any first time importing. Read up on the "EPA" threads - It sounds like scary times to be importing into the USA right now
Actually they do have 4WD. $450 adder Although for what I'd use one for I really dont need 4WD. Theres maybe 2 weeks a year you would even use 4WD on the road here in Oklahoma. I'm sure it wont be long untill someone in Canada starts selling these, I bet they'd be good sellers. And the price is actually lower for these than the 20+ year old trucks I see currently for sale in Canada.

I have a grey market Yanmar diesel tractor that I have no problems getting parts for. I simply found out what the "domestic" equivalent for my tractor was, and buy my parts according to that model. As for that truck, if they already have U.S. sourced air fuel and oil filters for it, so long as the engine and trans runs fine, those are simple to source. That Cinese crew cab truck looks nice enough in the photo. I'd still take the sit back and wait approach. The Japanese have already proven their reputation through the products that they sell here. Those Chinese knock offs have not. Even if they did, they would still need to be capable of highway speeds. Goverened to 25 mph, is a waste, and I have no use for one.
Ya might check into the Tatanka trucks though. I was told by my dealer that they cruise at highway speeds better than most minitrucks. ??
We'll have to see how they fare over the next couple of years. TX will still be a no-go to register one for the street at current. In the meantime, I'm settling with a conventional compact pickup that I found in Sweetwater, TX last week. It lacks the way cool factor and instant conversion from a pickup to a flatbed and back again of the mini, but it'll render me able to finally get rid of the full size truck that my mini was originally purchased to replace.
