Susuki Carry Thermostat and gasket $10.00
The thermostat and gasket for a Chevy sprint/ 3 cylinder fit in my DDT51T.
You need to drill a 1/16 inch vent hole in the side of the thermostat so the system can bleed properly. This hole will have no effect on the normal function of the cooling system.

Keeping the tech stuff sorted by model will make finding specific info easier Thanks

Do you have a picture of where the vent hole is drilled?

No I do not have a pic. Drill it close to where the seat is. Do not put it were it will interfere with the thermostat operation. It needs to be in a location where the coolant can flow thru the thermostat when it is closed.

Thanks for the info, carry 92.

Every little bit of info helps build our knowledge of cross over parts.

The Chev Sprint 3 cylinder thermostat gasket is identical to the one that came in my gasket kit.

Picked up a thermostat today at Car Quest.

My original thermostat said 88 degrees Celsius.

    The new one is 90 C / 195 F.

    Here is the info:

    OE Part # - 17600-85811

crossed over to Car Quest brand :

    CTH 31979

which is a thermostat for a Chevy Sprint.

It is not exactly "exact" , but same diameter and works perfect. I did drill a very small (1/16th?) hole as indicated above in previous comment.

The gasket is same size inside, but the tangs with bolt holes are a little bigger, thus you have to increase the inside of the hole for the bolt. No biggy.

    Gasket was $0.73
    Thermostat $5.10

This was for my 1993 Suzuki Carry.

    Hope this helps.

The 195deg (90deg.C) one would be great to keep the heat up in the winter but I would use a 160deg (67deg.C) thermo for the summer. Especially if you have AC, the more help you give the overtaxed cooling system, the better.
